We recommend washing your knives by hand with warm, soapy water and drying them immediately to prevent rust and damage to the blades.
if you do start To see rust I recommend using a scotch brite pad and mineral oil. Rub the pad vigorously on the area that has the rust. If it’s bad you may need to send it to a professional.
first, the knowledge it takes to make a quality knife is extensive. From knife design, fit and and feel to knife grinding and the geometry of the grinding to heat treating. Heat treating is probably the most misunderstood. Factory made knives have a one size fit all mentality to the heat treatment, where handmade knives have a personal touch.
I can write for days on this subject it’s so extensive. But this is just some examples of the reason of why handmade knives are so expensive.
